In a significant step towards modernizing agricultural practices in Goa, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) collaborated with the Zonal Agriculture Office, Madgao, to conduct a specialized hands-on program focused on drone training technology. The event, held on January 15th, 2025, in Nuvem, Madgao, South Goa, demonstrated the practical applications of drones in applying nutrient Nano Urea and Nano DAP in agriculture.
Expert Insights and Practical Demonstrations
Shri Rajesh D’Costa, Zonal Agriculture Officer of Madgao, highlighted the transformative potential of drone technology in modern farming practices. The training session featured comprehensive demonstrations of drone operations, specifically focusing on their application in precision agriculture.

The expert team provided detailed instructions on:
- Effective application of nano urea and nano DAP using drones
- Techniques for foliar nutrition application
- Methods to enhance crop health and productivity through drone technology
Impact and Participation of Drone Training
The training program attracted 23 participants, primarily farmers and agricultural stakeholders eager to adopt modern technological solutions. The initiative represents ICAR-KVK’s ongoing commitment to introducing innovative agricultural technologies to Goan farmers, promoting more sustainable and efficient farming practices.
